KLOI Gives Voice to Lopez Community
Enhancing the sense of identity and community on Lopez Island, the island’s lower power FM radio station, KLOI – 102.9, encourages compassionate discourse on community issues, and provides a venue for education, exploration of ideas, and creative expression.
Designed to celebrate local personalities and events, The Ron & Steve Show is hosted by KLOI board members Ron Metcalf & Steve Heller. The show airs on the radio for those living on Lopez Island or via webcasts beyond Lopez every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon. Featuring a community calendar and bulletin board, interviews with local personalities and special island guests, music and a few surprises, The Ron and Steve Show reflects the casual, culturally diverse nature of the island community.
